Froth and Fury 2025: A Day of Metal, Madness, and Memorable Moments

Froth and Fury has experienced massive growth since its inception in 2021, and 2025 proved to be no exception. The festival made a significant move this year, relocating from Pirate Life Brewery to the expansive Harts Mill. This change provided a much-needed upgrade, offering better crowd flow and easier access between the three stages, accommodating up to 5,000 punters. With 33 bands on the lineup, including major headliners Fear Factory, Thy Art is Murder, and Northlane, the festival attracted metal fans from all corners of the globe, from the US’s Great American Ghost to Taiwan’s Dharma. It was truly a celebration of all things metal, embracing every subgenre under the heavy music umbrella.

Local talent also took center stage, with Adelaide’s own acts getting their chance to shine. Left on Seen kicked things off as the first band of the day, immediately capturing the attention of early arrivals. Other local standouts, including Lola, Signv/s, and Witchspit, brought their A-game, giving new fans the chance to discover some of the best that Adelaide has to offer.

Beyond the music, Froth and Fury offered a variety of entertainment options. Between sets, festival-goers could enjoy some old-fashioned sword fighting, take in a wrestling match, or browse a mini-market. For those in need of a caffeine fix, a coffee stall kept the energy levels up, while local food trucks lining the alley between the two main stages kept the crowds well-fed. The event also featured more bars this year, meaning less time spent waiting in line and more time spent enjoying the music.

And what a day of music it was! The festival’s impeccable lineup timing meant fans could easily hop between stages, ensuring that no one had to miss a single act. Left on Seen were the perfect opener, bringing an infectious energy to kickstart the day. Their performance left many new fans in awe, and talking to Ashlea after the set, it’s clear that big things are coming for the band.

Next up were local legends Impetus, who immediately drew in a crowd. Their captivating performance kept people engaged, and the excitement grew as Lola took the stage. These skater-punk rockers have been making waves in Adelaide’s scene, and they delivered a high-octane set that had the crowd moshing and thrashing along.

As the day continued, it became a whirlwind of stage-hopping and catching as much music as possible. Fangz, one of the standouts of the festival, brought the house down with their insane energy, jumping, climbing, and crowd-surfing (just don’t try that at home!). They quickly became a fan favorite, with their chaotic yet infectious stage presence.

Another highlight was Hands Like Houses, who brought their new frontman Josh into the fold. Despite some initial hesitance from fans about the new sound, Josh’s powerful vocals and undeniable stage presence quickly won the crowd over. His performance set the stage perfectly for Thornhill, who followed with an electrifying set that had fans moshing in full force. With new material that leaned into a heavier, Nu-Metal vibe, Thornhill certainly made their mark.

The evening crescendoed with Thy Art is Murder, as the sun set behind them. The band’s set was a brutal, relentless assault of deathcore, with fans forming circle pits and walls of death, moshing furiously to every beat. Even with the long day coming to an end, Adelaide’s crowd still had plenty of energy to give, and the band’s new lineup didn’t diminish the love the crowd had for them.

The grand finale came courtesy of Northlane. By the time they hit the stage, the crowd was fully revved up, ready to give everything for the final act. Northlane delivered a powerhouse set that spanned their biggest hits, including “4D,” “Blood Work,” and the iconic “Citizen.” It was a perfect way to close out an unforgettable day of metal.

After more than 12 hours of non-stop moshing, headbanging, and soaking in some of the best heavy music around, the crowd slowly made its way out of the gates, undoubtedly with sore bodies but huge smiles on their faces. Froth and Fury 2025 was a resounding success, bringing together old fans, new discoveries, and a killer lineup in a vibrant celebration of metal music.
